Our Story
Kens Supermarket has been trading since 1968. The story began with Ken in 1968 at 'Top Kens' where he built a popular grocery store. After finishing school both his son's Philip and Robert joined the family business and built the Ken's we know today. 40 years ago Rob & Phil purchased bagels store where the shop stands today and began selling fresh fruit and veg for the first time. From there the shop went from strength to strength and became a hub of the community. As well as fresh grocery, posh wine and a bargain or two customers regularly visit the shop for a chat with the friendly staff.
Ken's is one of the longest standing independant Grocery stores in the UK and is now being run by the 3rd Generation. Since Phil's retirement in 2024 the shop is being run by Robert and his daughter Joanna, plus the 15 members of staff that make up the Ken's family.
